It was 1994, when KVP was approached by well-known International promoter ' Rocky ' Rakesh Kaushal for
JAGJIT SINGH's concert in Vancouver and without any hesitation, a date was set in April 1994, but to
everyone's surprise, KVP's first-ever concert at the Vogue Theatre,Vancouver was sold out a month in
advance and thus started KVP's foray in show-business.
1997 brought artistes from India and Pakistan at Vancouver's
prestigious Queen Elizabeth Theatre and along with then British
Columbia's Attorney General, Ujjal Dosanjh.thousands of
audiences were treated to a delightful musical programme by
Pakistan's RESHMA and India's Dharmendra,Mamta Kulkarni and emerging Sonu Nigam with his equally
talented father Agam Kumar.
Shahrukh Khan and Kajol, fresh from the success of Aditya Chopra's " Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge ", and
Akshay Kumar with Juhi Chawla, were brought in next by KVP as over 14,000 enjoyed an amazing display of
artistry and pageant at Vancouver's famous PNE in 1998.
The 300th Anniversary of KHALSA in 1999 was celebrated by Sikhs around the world, and KVP brought
DALER MEHNDI along with ' Punjabi Kudi ' Raveena Tandon and ' Qawwali Sensation ' ALTAF RAJA at PNE
again and again a sold-out crowd was treated to an amazing display of ' music at it's best ' and for the first
time in Vancouver's history, an Indian concert was featured at the front pages of VANCOUVER SUN.
KVP repeated ' Gazal King ' JAGJIT SINGH in 2000
and sold out crowd enjoyed him at Queen Elizabeth
Theatre. Gujarat was rocked with a massive
earthquake in 2001 and KVP organised an evening of
entertainment by SONU NIGAM, JASPINDER
NARULA and AGAM KUMAR at Queen Elizabeth
Theatre and entire proceeds from the sold- out concert were donated for GUJARAT EARTHQUAKE
RELIEF FUND.
India and Pakistan were at loggerheads and it's then that KVP brought the artistes from warring nations
as India's ANUP JALOTA and Pakistan's GULAM ALI performed together at Vancouver's Queen
Elizabeth theatre in ' FRIENDSHIP CONCERT ' in 2001.
Hrithik Roshan rocked the world with his very first film " Kaho Naa Pyar Hai " and KVP brought him
along with KARISHMA, KAREENA KAPOOR, ARJUN RAMPAL and AFTAAB at PNE and over 13,000
witnessed history in the making as lasers were used for the first time in Vancouver's Indian concerts.
KVP made history again as it brought India's ' living legend ' MAHENDRA KAPOOR for the first time at
Vancouver's premiere venue,' THE CENTRE ' along with his son
Rohan Kapoor and the crowd went crazy.
Pakistan's NUSRAT FATEH ALI KHAN's nephews, MUAZZAM
and RIZWAAN MUJAHID ALI KHAN and their Qawwali group
from Faisalabaad,Pakistan rocked Vancouver and Surrey in 2004
and ' Gazal duo ' Roop Kumar Rathod and Sonali Rathod
mesmerised the audiences at the Massey Theatre in 2006.
HARI HARAN and his group's fusion of gazals and popular songs
heralded the 2007 and Ustad RASHID KHAN and Sitarist KUSHAL DAS brought the house down at Vancouver's Norman
Rothstein Theatre in 2007 and carrying on the tradition of ' classical singing ', the husband-wife team of PARTHASARTHI
DESIKAN and KAUSHIKI CHAKRAVARTI entertained audiences to an amazing concert in 2007.
ASHA BHOSLE, SONU NIGAM, KAILASH KHER and KUNAAL GANJAWAALA were the stars of the ' Summer Concert ' at
Vancouver's PNE. Kamlesh Awasthi and BANKIM PATHAK revived the memories of Mukesh and Mohammad Rafi in " KAL
KI YAADEIN " at the Massey Theatre.
2008 started with the Gujarati comedy drama at the Massey and then Pakistan's ATIF ASLAM along with ' Sa Re Ga Ma
Pa fame ' AMAANAT ALI and India's ' Sufi sensation ' KAILASH KHER and RICHHA SHARMA, rocked at the ORPHEUM
theatre in 2008.
KVP brought the gazal artistes TALAT AZIZ and CHANDAN DAS at the MASSEY theatre and Nusrat's nephews,
MUAZZAM and RIZWAAN's qawaalis brought back the memories of Nusrat ji again .
2009 started with a classical concert- another first- as KVP brought Pt. Milind Tulankar on JALTARANG, Pt. Sunil Avachat on BANSURI and Pt. Ramdas Palsul;e
on TABLA at Burnaby's Shadbolt Theatrein a rare JUGALBANDI.
JAGJIT SINGH was presented at Queen Elizabeth theatre again in 2009 and BC's Premier Hon. Gordon Campbell was in the audience as well and KAILASH
KHER and his band ' KAILASA ' brought the house down at Surrey's BELL CENTRE in Sept. 2009
